Villages Wins National Award

Stockbridge Village-based Villages Housing Association are delighted to announce that the Stockbridge Village Safer Communities Initiative (SCI) has won a Chartered Institute of Housing UK Housing Award for the "Creating Safer Communities" category.
The SCI is aimed at making Stockbridge Village a safer place for residents to live and work. The estate, built in the 1960s, has gained a bad reputation in recent years, with gang, gun and drug culture becoming more prevalent. Multis Win At Knowsley Business Awards 2011

Villages Housing Association, in Stockbridge Village, were delighted to be awarded the Regeneration Award at the 2011 Knowsley Business Awards for the £5.5 million refurbishment programme of their 450 multi-storey apartments.
The judges recognised the work that Villages had carried out to improve the accommodation, community facilities and services to residents of Stockbridge Village, on time and within budget.

Stockbridge Village based Villages Housing Association has been shortlisted for a Chartered Institute of Housing UK Housing Award for the "Creating Safer Communities" category, for the work undertaken as part of the Stockbridge Village Safer Communities Initiative (SCI).

Villages Housing Association and the Safer Knowsley Partnership are delighted to announce that the Stockbridge Village "Safer Communities Initiative" has won 3 awards at the National Housing Federation's North West "What We Are Proud Of" awards - including the overall winner for the North West. Inspirational People in Stockbridge Village

Stockbridge Village-based Villages Housing Association are celebrating after one of their tenants won the "Neighbour Of The Year Award" and one of their managers won the "Boss Of The Year Award" at the Juice FM Inspiration Awards on Thursday night.
Maureen Clunan has lived in Stockbridge Village since 1993 in Merecliff, one of 6 multi-storey blocks in Stockbridge, and is a worthy winner of the "Neighbour Of The Year Award". Maureen is an active member of the community and sits on many resident and tenant groups, and is Chair of two of them.

Fitton Hill Gala Day 2011
Tuesday 12th April 2011

Villages Housing Association held a Gala Day on Tuesday 12th April at Medlock Valley Community School, Deanshut Road, Fitton Hill.
There were lots of free activities for all the family, including a climbing wall, face painting, long boarding (similar to skate boarding), a graffiti wall which will hopefully be installed in the new Neighbourhood Centre (that is currently being built on Newbarn Road) and demonstrations and taster sessions from cheerleaders, Thai boxing and rugby groups, and a BBQ and Buffet were also available. Fitton Hill's 7th Birthday

Since Villages Housing Association took over the management of the Fitton Hill estate in Oldham we have provided:
- 840 new Kitchens
- 832 new Bathrooms
-872 Full heating systems
We are also coming to the end of a £3.4 million Environmental Improvement Programme which has involved:
- With the help of residents and local schools we have planted throughout the estate 220,00 spring bulbs which will bring colour to the estate
- Provided 322 new and refurbished 155 driveways in tenants' front gardens

Blitz Spirit in Stockbridge Village
Monday 28th February 2011

The 'Blitz Spirit' has been alive and well in Stockbridge Village over the last few days. Some residents were without electricity for a few days from the morning of Thursday 24th February 2011. This has been due to a defective electric cable which Scottish Power were working through the day and night to repair. Some of the areas worst affected include the sheltered scheme at Roughsedge House and some adapted bungalows in Spruce Grove.

Multi Storey Project in Final Phase
Wednesday 9th February 2011

Stockbridge Village-based Villages Housing Association are delighted to announce that the final phase of a £5.5 million refurbishment programme of their 5 multi-storey apartment blocks has now started.
This final phase is due to be completed by the end of September, meaning that all 450 apartments will have been refurbished with a brand new kitchen, bathroom, double glazed windows, will have been rewired, had all of the balconies freshly painted, the lifts and CCTV systems upgraded and had new intercom access installed.

TESS Are the A-Team!

In October this year the Villages Housing Tenants Extra Support Scheme (TESS) was reviewed by Knowsley's Supporting People Team and has gained a level A accreditation for its work. This is the highest score that any Supporting People funded service can achieve and it is very well deserved. Villages is the first provider in Knowsley to be assessed at a level A under the new quality assessment framework.
TESS is funded through Supporting People and provides floating housing support to all Knowsley tenants, not just Villages' tenants. Last year TESS assisted over 400 tenants, secured more than £400,000 in extra... [read more]
