Villages Shortlisted For National Housing Award

Villages Housing Association has been shortlisted for a Chartered Institute of Housing UK Housing Award in the "Creating Safer Communities" category, for the Stockbridge Village Safer Communities Initiative (SCI).
In the first 12 months of the initiative, from January 2010 to January 2011, overall crime in the area reduced by 20% and has continued to reduce to nearly 35% after 18 months!Sarah Bevan, Initiatives Director at Villages said, "We are delighted to have been shortlisted for this prestigious national housing award and the recognition that this e initiative has had for the local community. The results are fantastic and would not have been achieved by any partner working on their own."
This year's awards will be presented by Michael Portillo at a lunchtime ceremony in London's Hilton Hotel on 9 November 2011. The ceremony is organised by the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) and Inside Housing magazine.
