"Villages made a set of promises to tenants when we took over in 2004. We are very proud to be able to say we have fulfilled every one of those promises. Our mission is "To be more than just a landlord by working in partnership to create an environment for communities to flourish." We have worked very closely with partners and the tenants and residents of Fitton Hill to enable us to carry out the work that will provide them, not only with a decent home, but a vibrant and sustainable community. We have improved the perception of Fitton Hill to make the estate a place where people choose to live and work."

Residents have always expressed high levels of satisfaction with the services they receive from Villages. Our 2010 Status Survey showed overall satisfaction in Fitton Hill was 94.9.

Sheila Davis is an owner occupier from Fitton Hill and says, working with local children to plant over 220,000 bulbs in Fitton HIll

"I was on the Villages Stock Transfer Panel. They said they would improve the houses and the estate (new bathrooms, kitchens, windows, central heating and doors)......Yes they did - and to a good standard. They said they'd help schools with new reading systems, extracurricular activities and trips…... Yes they did - and are always helping. They said that their staff would be helpful and polite..…and yes they are. More than just a landlord…..Yes they are!!"

Doris is 73 and a tenant of Villages. She says,

"We have been very, very satisfied with all works that Villages have carried out since the stock transfer. We are happy living on Fitton Hill and like how Villages look after their tenants."

Jean and David Jones are the Mayor and Mayoress of Oldham, Jean was a member of the Fitton Hill Estate management Committee until March 2010. Jean told the Chronicle,

"In my time as a councillor for the area, I saw a vast improvement in the properties themselves and the general environment of the estate. The tenants were pleased with the fact that they had a 'local' housing office with efficient officers and appreciated the quantity and quality of the work completed within their homes.

In fact in my time on the council I never received one complaint about Villages Housing although I did have enquiries from people who wanted to move onto the estate.

As a member of the committee I saw first hand the active involvement of the tenants and residents of the estate and the willingness of the organisation to involve the community in all the services carried out by the association."
